My pdoc told me Depakote was pretty gentle. She said that it was used on children with no problems and that if there was one med that I could take for the rest of my life it'd be Depakote (I'm 18). Unfortunately it didn't work with me. I was on 1000 mg and it didn't help the anxiety. It also kept me up a little at night.
