Hi I read somewhere not much time ago the fact that
SSRIs like drugs do lower testosterone levels possibly by increasing levels of serotonin >that causes higher insulin >low test.
Has anyone any good articles about that issue?It could explain why sex drive is so much impaired when taking these meds .
Will taking a Maoi, possibly moclobemide ,have not this awful side effect?
It actually scares me because i see girls around me each day, a lot of cute girls too but i cant feel any interest as i did once,that sux.
Maybe also because of the fact ive been on antipsychotics like haldol or melleril for 2 years and then on the newer atypicals that , by blocking dopamine action block pleasure centers too,leading to a loss of interest and yes...wierd thoughts.
Since im only 22 and its too humiliating to feel like that ill ask my pdoc for a strong dopaminergic maoi,hopefully ill be ok..
please anyone with some infos , tell me!Luca
