I recently experienced what I would call anhedonia due to an increase in my Depakote. I felt absolutely "flat". I could not cry even during a time when that was appropriate. I tried to feel "happy" about small things, such as good food, and found that there just wasn't any emotion. I wasn't depressed either. But who wants to be flat and lifeless?
I dropped my Depakote dose from 1500 mg back to 1000 and that pretty much fixed it.
I would always try reducing a med before adding something to counter-act it, but that's just me.
