High doses of Vitamin D - 1000 mg + - are supposed to help. Apparently, the sun isn't strong enough in northern winters to synthesize it naturally, and the effects of fortified foods are negligible. So there's some conjecture that SAD is related to Vitamin D deficiency. Might be worth a try.
