IME they're not that good except for the sympathetic nervous system sx of performance anxiety.

I think that it wouldn't be much trouble to try a small dose of propranolol (10 mg) once. I never had any problems with propranolol (up to 40 mg at a time), although I do get OH from most TCAs and MAOIs.

I had the so-called serotonin syndrome, including a full-blown mixed mania.

That sucks. I tried a lot of mood stabilizing meds (lithium, Depakote, Neurontin, Lamictal, and now Trileptal) and none of them seemed to have much effect at all, except a bit of sedation from the Neurontin.
