Tina:

I am on Seroquel, and have had the same side-effects. In fact, at one point in the past, I was what I feel, at my worst. Are you just taking Seroquel without and anti-depressant, and if you are taking one, which one?

I think this goes for most antipsychotics, and I have just read a similar account, and that is taking powerful antipsychotics without an antidepressant (in particular in mixed-depression and BP2 cases) can lead to nasty side effects, and even worsening of depression and symptoms. It leaves you in a dull, foggy, irritable haze.

These meds are intially indicated for schizophrenia, so I would say they seem to work best for everything else as an add-on.

What you want is a good powerful antidepressant to balance out the effects of the Seroquel. Benzo's can also be helpful in this situation.
In fact I would say get to your doc/pdoc *asap*!
Nowhere are these antipsychotics indicated as mono-therapy for depression or even anxiety.

Try tapering back on to the antidepressant that worked best for you in the past, and see if you can get some benzos, along with taking your Seroquel. I can almost say for sure you will likely feel much better. It may just then be a matter of figuring out doses, and maybe switching the meds from each class around.

This is all IMHO...but also from my own reading and experiments. Sounds like we have had similar problems.

Good luck...remember...it can get better.

I've had skin rashes which I didn't associate with the seroquel but you never know. I've had palpitations, dizziness and near-fainting upon standing. This is ridiculous, isn't it??
