Dear Susanrenee

I don't know why you are taking the effexor or for how long. I've been on it for a little over a year now and can skip a dosage without noticing which I couldn't do when I started. Apparently taking prozac for a little while before quitting effexor helps with the withdrawal because it stays in the system longer.

I also have children at home. I take three pills when I wake up in the morning, another three at lunch time that are different, one of the morning pills around dinner time, and another two or three at bedtime depending on how I'm feeling. Since adding effexor to my regimen there has been a significant improvement in my well-being, which has improved my whole family's life.

When my children were younger they wanted "pills" too, so I started taking them without the children seeing. Now they know are old enough to realize what a difference these medications make. My eldest is ten and when she has asked specific questions I've answered her in general but truthful terms that she can understand. This has aleviated alot of her concerns, which at one point years ago she asked if I was dieing.

A common saying on this board is would you deny a diabetic their medication?
