> Hello, does anyone know the differnce between remeron and elavil. Does elavil cause the weight gain, appetite, like remeron. Remeron is helping very much, exp for sleep, looking for a med to take at betime which is similar, without the wieght gain/increased appetite, and which displays the sleep/antianxiety/depression pharmocology.

Hi Geno

Given my previous reactions to three trials of Remeron I would gladly take the Elavil instead! When I was taking Elavil I didn't seem to have the hungries/munchies as bad as with the Remeron. Also, I don't remember getting irritable on the Elavil. I think Elavil was the med compared to Remeron in the clinical trials. You might consider it as a switch.
