It's normal to be a little scared. My advice is stop worrying and disregard all the negative postings. Apprehension over taking Effexor XR will definately work against you. Every person will respond differently to the same medicine - remember this because it's true.
Undoubtably, the postings you've read are extreme examples; the rare cases. Pretend you're swallowing candy when you take it, and distract yourself as much as possible over the next week or two. You'll be fine if you have faith in both yourself and the drug.
