I had previously asked what anti-depressant is closest to the happy, relaxed, sociable (but not drunk) feeling you get after drinking 3 beers. It sounds like Remeron is the closest.
I am a college student & love to drink, mostly because of the increased sociability & lack of inhibition it gives me but stopped drinking b/c I always ended up binge drinking on the weekends and did stupid stuff like unprotected sex with women or snorting cocaine. (I am shy when sober, but the total opposite when drunk- loud and sociable and can talk to girls better).
What are some of your experiences with Remeron?
I now take Zoloft 100 mg and it made me tired when I first started taking it, but now it seems to be working well but causes some insomnia & ejaculation failure- (though I do feel good but not as good as after 3 beers). Last semester, After I stopped drinking & before I started taking Zoloft, I had trouble getting out of bed to go to class and was sleeping like 14-16 hours a day. I had no desire to do anything except sleep & watch tv. If I take Remeron an hour before I go to bed, will I still feel sleepy the next day or just happy, rested, and ready to work or study? Does this sleepiness go away after a month? Has anyone drank alcohol while on Remeron? Does remeron increase your sociability if you are shy? (Zoloft has made me less afraid of what other people think & a bit more sociable)
