has remeron worsened insomnia?

Posted by insomnia mike on June 18, 2001, at 5:47:40

hi!
i started taking remeron for severe depression/burnout syndrome 5 weeks ago. the first week i took 15 mg, and started sleeping better. them i increased the dosade to 30 mg. after two weeks i had a couple of great days, sleeping well, feeling neither depressed or filled with anxiety or restlessness. then i got worse for a few days, then good again for a duration of 5 days. but since the end of the third week of medication, my sleeping probpems have returned, and i also now suffer from a restless legs. the depression symptoms have decreased, but are still a problem.
last night i tried to split up the dosage by taking 15 mg at 6 p.m, and the rest at 9.pm. this actually releived me from the restless legs, and made me feel calmer.
unfortunately it did not relieve me from insomnia.
ar there other people out there that notice problems with sleep despite taking remeron, and have you found any way to get around this problem?
i'm taking flunitrazepam for my sleep, and it's helping somewhat.
thankful for any advice,
mike
