switching from celexa to zoloft

Posted by bissie66 on June 15, 2001, at 14:34:54

i was on 40 mg. celexa and am switching (back) to zoloft 100 mg. i tapered off the celexa too quickly -- went down to 20 mg. for 2 days then stopped taking it altogether. i thought since i was switching to another ssri (i'm up to 75 mg. of zoloft BTW, having started at 25 mg. 8 days ago) i wouldn't have the withdrawal symptoms. i was wrong! i got clobbered with fatigue, anxiety, symptoms of depression. so now i'm taking 10 mg. celexa. am feeling a little better after 3 days of this. question: any advice about how long to stay on teh 10 mg. before I quit celexa? should i taper even more, down to 5 mg. before stopping?

thank you! bissie
