Selegiline doesn't increase dopamine w/o levodopa?

Posted by PhoenixGirl on May 26, 2001, at 13:56:01

I read that deprenyl (selegiline) does not increase dopamine activity unless the person is also takine levodopa (l-dopa). What's up with that? I am looking for a drug that will increase my dopamine activity. I want to try Mirapex, but am concerned with the possible side effect of falling asleep suddenly.
