< < well this is an update on my withdrawal - i have now gotten down to taking 9mg every other day. i started this week. so far it is going okay. i am also still gaining weight which is depressing me. has anyone had success in weight loss after the weaning process is over? does anyone know how long this medication remains in you after you stop taking it? thanks for all the help. > >

This withdrawal stuff is scary . . . I've been on/off Effexor for about . . . 2 years now. I never have any nasty side effects, except for the extraordinarily large pupils. But the glassy effect that makes me look like I'm on LSD fades.

But I was off Effexor for almost an entire year and my pupils were still huge. That's the only long-standing effect I've come across. I guess I'm pretty lucky not to have gone through the scary withdrawal stuff . . .
