>I am on effexor xr and have not noticed any weight gain - i have been on some form of effexor for over 8 years and haven't had any problems. I know it is different for everyone, but I also come from a family line of very heavy people. I know some that have not had problems with prozac. I hope you find one that works as I know weight gain can really do a number on self image, esteem and anger. best of luck!

I'm on remeron, a drug notorious for weight gain. I've gained weight on zoloft in the past. This is my 2nd time on the remeron, the first time I gained 20-25# in 4 months. This time I've actually been able to lose weight. For my height (5'5'') I am normal(140), but I am a bit bigger than I would like (everyone else in my family eats 3000 cal/ day & stay rail thin, so I feel big in comparison).
> My advice is watch your calories, and keep exercising and weight training. That's what has helped me the most. These meds cause insane carb cravings so the calories can really add up.
