Thanks Mitch and Sherry for responding. This person on the depakote is on 2,000 mg. a day, it changes a lot (the amt). One of the doctors insisted that it was just fatty tissue (the aawful swelling), but I knew it was pitting edema and I was right, the doctor later said it was. They gave her lasix. She is not on lithium now. I get the feeling shes needs a different medicine for the mania. Her whole personality has changed and its upsetting. Is Topamax another anticonvulsant?
