Weight gain is no joking matter. Hopefully pharmaceutical haqve gegun looking at this as a serious side effect and are addressing it during R&D. I sympathize and have also gained around 15 pounds from psych drugs (not risperdal). I would encourage you to talk with your doctor about this side effect. If it is just depression you have, perhaps another drug would do the trick without that side effect. But in all reality you will probably have some cross to bear for the relief you get, be it fatigue, or whatever.
Find a good psychopharmacologist with an appreciation for this side effect.Good Luck
