Geodon - What is a fair trial? -all

After twelve days I am considering discontinuing Geodon. The main reason is the akathisia. It finally occurred to me today (duh), that this is the major problem I have with APs and it only exaggerates the SI, depressive and anxiety symptoms. Does anyone know if it goes away with continued use?
The other reason is sedation. It is a whole lot less sedating for me than any other AP has been, but after twelve days I am still concerned about driving. Perhaps it has more to do with the fear factor. I just don't feel quite "with it." Today was awful after upping the dose to 40 mgs last p.m. I talked with the pDoc who is taking call for mine while he gone for two weeks and he suggessted stopping it altogether. Origninally I was determined to give it a full trial, which is three weeks to me, but am having second thoughts. It was supposed to be my "miracle" med. Too much to ask.

Note: My response is probably not typical, because I have always been -very- sensitive to AP side effects.

I wish the rest of you the best. Nice to see you on babble, Karen.
