Greetings to all. I've been a long-time lurker here and decided to ask some questions.
I have a long history of psychiatric disorders. Latest 8 years I had severe obsessions, depression, very severe social phobia (I spend 6-7 years in home never going out), strong anxiety and panic attacks and some auditory hallucinations. Rarely hypomania, ruminating thoughts etc.
My shrink considers me bipolar II and thus the zyprexa which he says also has stabilizing properties.My current coctail which took 5 months to build with my shrink is:
Zyprexa 10mg at night
60mg paxil /day
xanax 0.25 twice a day and 0.5-0.75 before going out.
I also take 300mg trazodone every night to help me sleep.I am very satisfied up to now since in 5-6 months I was transformed and now I go out with friends etc. There is still some social phobia etc. but I manage to control myself. No more hallucinations, no more depersonalization, I'm less anhedonic now and all seems to go well.
However! While I managed to get over most of the side effects, from bruxism to migrains and from somnolence to weight gain, there is one thing which bothers me a lot. Sexual dysfunction. Yesterday I met a guy and I believe there is mutual attraction but the complete sexual dysfunction from paxil will have rather catastrophic effects.
Any ideas?
btw I have done by myself a trial on sulpiride which was effective and very activating re: depression but then got some strong EPS and had to stop it.
