> Hi my new doctor wants me to try Celexa for my depression /anxiety. I have been taking Trazadone and xanax. I agree that I would prefer to take only 1 medication if possible. She said I could continue Trazadone at night for sleeping as needed, but should cut off the xanax as Celexa should help with anxiety.
> I have tried Prozac in the past and needed xanax with it, and tried Effexor xr for 3 days and couldn't stand the anxiety. Those of you taking Celexa what time of day do you take it? sgirl

I take it in the morning too because to me it is activating. Be forewarned that at first it can make you feel anxious. This side effect lasted a week or so for me and it is completely GONE now, so I do think it works well for anxiety. But I was shocked when the first few days I felt worse than before I started taking it. I also take Remeron at night to help me sleep although I hope to phase it out (makes me TOO groggy). Good luck.
