This good feeling continues until about 1 hour after lunch in which I start feel extremely irritable and agiatated.

I am wondering if my experience is due to both PMS and the fact that I'm still adjusting to the Prozac? But it just seems weird to me to feel so good and then to reverse course after lunch. I'm also wondering if the prozac needs to be increased.

I've been on both prozac and zoloft and have switched between them a few times. How long have you been taking the prozac? In my opinion, you need to taper the zoloft as the prozac starts to kick in. You can go off of Zoloft pretty quickly without withdrawal as long as you have something else to replace it, i.e. Prozac. But, the prozac needs to be working or else you will start to withdraw from the zoloft. I found them to be very similar in their effects, and I prefered the Prozac (stronger, less jitters, less worry about missing a does, etc). You need to play it by ear (or feel) with tapering the zoloft.

If it has only been a couple of weeks, give it a little more time. If after 3.5-4 weeks, up the dose. If you still don't notice it working after another 2-3 weeks, then I'd consider giving up on the Prozac. Then again, I'm not a doctor, so take this for what its worth.

Good luck.

Buffet.
