Maribeth,
I believe the withdrawal will be the same whether the medicine is working for you or not. The withdrawal, of course, should be done with the help of your doctor. My doctor has helped me to withdraw from plenty of medicines that have stopped working for me. He put me on another one a.s.a.p. too and so I haven't had withdrawal that I noticed when it was done that way.
