Hi Jackie,

Pondimin (fenfluramine) has been removed from the US market in 1997 after several cases of heart valve problems were reported by the Mayo Clinic with the use of "phen-fen" ("phen" for phentermine; "fen" for fenfluramine). As an offshoot of this report, dexfenfluramine (Redux), another appetite-suppressant drug, was also taken of the US market. Phentermine is still available.
