Effexor - some positive words about withdrawl!

Posted by JulieK on August 10, 2000, at 15:43:55

Just to let everyone know of some positive feedback regarding Effexor and the withdrawl effects. I was previously
taking 150 mg a day. Along with 150 of Wellbutrin. I have slowly reduced my MG's over the past 2 months. I went
from the 150 to 75 for about 2 weeks to 37.5 for about 3 weeks. Then I took the 25mg of regular Effexor (not SR)
The regular is in a tablet form that you can cut. After about 2 weeks on the 25 I cut the tablet in half, taking the 12.5
for about 1 week. Now I have cut the 12.5 portion in half. Did that for 1 week. If you can believe it I have actually
cut the 1/4 tablet into little pieces. That is where I am now. I have felt a little blah in the morning the day after the
decrease but I feel like this was a major breakthrough for me in getting off this medication. I think Effexor has done
a great job for my depression and if we and our doctors understand how to come off of this drug maybe we won't
all be freaked out about it. Hope this helps. JulieK
