Hi Brenda and Jen, (that's what I call my daughter, hope you don't mind)
I think San Luis Obispo would be great, it's a beautiful place with lots of things to do. August is a very rough month for me too. I have company picnics, my company is moving to a new building, my wife's best friend is getting married and I have to help a friend move. Whew!!! Maybe September would be better for the get-together, maybe a weekend so the home schooling and docs appts wouldn't be interrupted. I think it's a great idea to invite people from outside the area! I think I'll start a new post on this and see who's interested in coming, what do you think?
Anybody from out of the area interested in attending please let me know.

Seriously, if California people want to meet, I would be interested, but I don't know how likely it would be that I could attend. I will be out of town the last half of August, then school starts (I homeschool). Plus it seems like I've had a neverending number of MD appts trying to figure out what's going on. If it worked out, I would definetly come...probably leave my kids with friends with family in the Bay Area, then extend the trip to make it "educational".
