I have had severe depression for eight years. Tried Prozac, Zoloft, nothing happened. Paxil worked for years at 60mg. a day, but now has stopped working. Started Effexor XR today and I have gained weight on Paxil, but the depression is much worse to deal with than the weight gain. My depression is so bad that without AD's, it wouldn't matter how much I weighed, because I wouldn't be here anyway. Paxil made me so tired all day long, and the depression is starting to come back. I hope Effexor XR works.
