Topomax is usually intiated at 12.5-25 mg twice a day. The final dosage is between 100-200 mg daily. Carbamazepine lowers blood levels by 50% and valproic acid decreaces levels by 15%.
The reason why not to many people have responded to your questions concerning topomax is most likely because topomax is not used as a first line of defence against bipolar disorder. It is usually used in treatment-resistant bipolars.
