> My son was on zoloft and now is being switched to wellbutrin. He started the zoloft when he was diagnosed with depressive disorder and was planning his suicide, He' almost 12.
> On the zoloft his depression lifted but he had a different laugh almost maniacle, scary. His impulsivity went up and his tone when he would get angry would be so powerful and scary.
> I hate the idea of having him on medication but pray it helps. I need feedback about what it's like when you switch from zoloft to wellbutrin and what we can expect to maybe happen. Any body out there who's been through this before? I feel so alone!

What is his diagnosis exactly? It sounds like he might have been experiencing hypomania, in which case wellbutrin could be a good switch, since some psychiatrists believe that it is less likely to induce mania. Still, I would look into adding a mood stabilizer. Most people here have gotten over the whether to medicate and only ask with what.

Hope this helps,
Abby
