I think you should go with your instint that your doctor is a quack. The amount of different drugs you have been on in only two years concerns me.
It sounds as though your doctor hasn't pinpointed your exact problem and seems to be shooting fish in a barrel. You shouldn't be anyones guinea pig. You may need a new start in fighting your depression, and perhaps also a new doctor.
