Body temperature changes w/depression?

Posted by Sean on April 3, 2000, at 11:55:40

Hello everybody,

Starting in Late January, I noticed a low grade fever
(about 99.8) which built through the day but ended
around midnight. I first assumed this was some kind of
"bug" and tried to take it easy. After about a month,
however, I went to a doc and had all sorts of tests
run (including Lyme). All came back normal.

I finally went to my p-doc and he theorized a dysregulation
of my temp/circadian center and I started zoloft. It
seems to be helping, but I was really caught blind by
this "prodroma". Oddly, I have had two other strange
fevers which lasted about two weeks and did not result
in a depressive episode. Very strange.

Has anybody else experienced a "fever of unexplained
origin" as part of a depressive episode? I'm very
curious about this.

Sean.
