I have tried every medication you can imagine but the only one that did any good was Nomifensine(Merital). I was on it for six months before if was taken off the market. I have recently received my first order of reboxetine hoping for the same effects I had with Nomifensine. Has anyone had any experience with both these drugs and are they comparable?

It seems that you and I may be traveling the same track. Nomifensine had also helped me, although my response to it was very brief. I too have been on a continual series of treatment trials, and have not been able to find anything that works well and consistently.

I'm expecting my first shipment of reboxetine to arrive any day now. My doctor wants to start off at 4 mg/day. Both nomifensine and reboxetine act to inhibit the reuptake of norepinephrine, a neurotransmitter, by neurons. Although they do differ in other respects, this similarity should at least offer a reason to give it a try. It would be nice to hear from someone who has had good responses to both of them, and who has also been unlucky with other drugs in the past.

What dosage will you be taking? How long will your doctor keep you on it to see if it will work? I read a post in which someone who failed to respond at 4 mg/day did so at 8 mg/day. I'll be posting as to how I am doing with it.
