Thomas-
Phil has the right idea; an unexplained rash which appears after starting a new drug usually is an allergic reaction. Stop taking the drug and call your doc immediately; often you get a faster response if you tell them you are having a "possible allergic reaction" to a new med. Continuing to take a drug after an allergic response appears can lead to more severe allergic reactions.
Having had allergic reactions to several drugs, I keep Benadryl, an OTC (over-the-counter) antihistamine often used to ease allergic reactions, on hand. If your doc recommends it for your rash, know that it makes many people VERY sleepy. Good luck!
