repetitive chewing Paxil

Posted by jan on January 24, 2000, at 11:01:43

My dad is in the hospital for complications following
lung volume reduction surgery. He was started on Paxil for
depression about two weeks ago. For the last few days he
has been chewing nonstop. He is being tube fed so there is
nothing in his mouth. I found an article on the net
from Australia (Adverse Drug Reaction Committee) that
says that paroxetine can cause this. I want to mention
this to my dad's doctor but I don't want him to think
I'm trying to tell him what to do. Has anyone else had
this sied effect from paxil aka paroxetine?
