> Has your daughter been TREATED for depression? Believe me, the depression is much more harmful to her than trich, and probably go hand-in-hand anyway. I have both conditions. My doctor said my meds would help the trich, but they really haven't. But I don't have a serious case of trich, so I can usually ignore my compulsions. Anyway, I URGE you to get your daughter at least evaluation by a psychiatrist. Medication could do wonders for her. Take it from someone who knows, and someone who waited MUCH too long and wasted MUCH too much of her life. Please!

I have been tempted to have her try some of my Prozac that I take, but it scares me to give it to her without a Drs.recommendation.
It is hard to know how far to push her as I don't want to make things worse for her but at the same time someone has to do something. Thanks again and the best of luck to you. Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.
