I'm barely computer literate, but I have found that when the connection gets stuck on "connecting", it sometimes works just to quit that attempt and start over. Often, it connects quickly the second time. Also, time of day seems to matter. I have more trouble getting through during weekdays, more luck evenings and weekends.
