I have been taking Amitriptyline for several years. I take it because I am very nervous and cannot sleep at night without it. I take 75mg every night. It helps me to sleep and control my anxeity (panic attacks) the next day. I don't think I could manage without it. Amitriptyline is safe to take. It is a good thing to have around.
I know where you are coming from and believe me, your body will get used to the meds soon.
