There certainly could be. Is he taking anything to help suppress the salivation? Is he eating more? Most clozapine users gain weight due to increased appetite and just the side effect of the drug. He may also be drinking more fluids than he used to, which may include sodas or juices- both full of sugars. Some schizophrenics have polydipsia (increased thirst) and seem to obsessively drink lots of fluids.
