upon stating that I had my master's degree, the interviewer stated "how nice."
and I think that there is a very real difference in deciding what course of study you will choose
it can be based on
1. what is in demand and what is paying well
2. what your interests are...maybe I just should've gone with the herd

Hi Obsidian,
My BA degree is offbeat: film history. I have two certificates: visual and print communication and paralegal. So far I am struggling not to be trampled by the herd as I interview for legal jobs having been downsized from a law office in February.
Sorry your inerviewer just said "how nice" instead of acknowledging the hard work involved in getting a master's degree.
I think the whole inerviewing process sucks.

haha ...gone /w the herd,
I like your 1 and 2 list. 1 I learned to value right before going to skool. 2 I realized after getting my first job which I learned to hate.
Going w/ #1 may sacrifice #2 and vice versa so what then? Beats me unless you get the best of both worlds.
but don't give up, keep searching, chk w/ friends about jobs, extend your contacts by networking and hopefully you'll find something that fulfills both or at least comes close.
