brain regions

Posted by alexandra_k on June 23, 2021, at 5:26:04

there really are different brain regions for different kinds of tasks.

frontal lobes have to do with rationality and future planning. we know because of people who have obliterated that region through acquired accident. (phineas gage). what that did to personality. how that altered them as a person. how it affected their life.

philosophers have become overly attached to the frontal lobes as somehow the pinnacle or epitome or top of the hierarchy of intelligence simpicitor. what separates us from the animals and from infantile state. but that's just wrong.

(well then B- me for my essay in anatomy to prevent and prohibit my future progress in academia)...

...

the cerebellum is the pinnacle or epitome of neuromuscular intelligence. movement patterning.

the limbic system is the pinnacle or epitome of emotional intelligence. the capacity to diffuse or dissarm extreme emotional state with the appropriate complement. to identify that and respond accordingly.

the way that the cerebellum can respond intelligently with counter-movement.

i'm starting (just the most basic) of understanding of breath control and regulation. which is (of course) the key to thoracic spine. and (by extension) scapula posture and (by extension) proper arm movement.

and how my legs don't move, really, but my spine does.

cerebellum. yeah.

i mean everything, really, is an inference away, from the core.

elbows and knees... is it tai kwan do? that does elbow and knee strikes?

elbows and knees are fairly key. if you can elbow and knee properly then the follow through (wrists and ankles) is fairly straightforward...

but if you work to train wrists and ankles... it becomes counter-productive.

like...

if you train maximum cleans and jerks and snatches all the time... then you won't be able to do various things... like... any abdominal contraction. you will eliminate it with large muscle recruitment because it always will be the weakest link.

there is this thing about... how you can train core every day...

but, of course, it depends on how you train it.

the ability to hit a full body extension or flexion... can't be sustained for any great length of time by nature of the movement...

but there is an endurance thing...

that prohibits you smashing down on... inadequate recuitment. perhaps.

or perhaps crossfit is a consiracy of physiotherapy development. hmmmmm.. perhaps.... hmmm...

of course i only say that because i can't. if i could then i suppose i would develop a conceptualisation of a higher level truth...

which would mean i would discover that the most basic movement pattern i know needs to be reprogammed...

yeah...

it's a funny thing (funny strange rather than haha).

if i gotta wait 2 to 3 minutes between sets of maximal squats (roughly) then why can't i spend the time revising my anatomy?

that is to say... why can't i divert blood-flow to my frontal lobes while resting between squat sets.

yeah.

can't.

there we go.

blood is busy recovering y'all. and preparing for the next set. brain doesn't work that way. like capacity on working memory capacity in delegating between regions in parallel...
