An online conversation (includes foul language)

Posted by floatingbridge on September 4, 2011, at 16:30:45

I hope this is not too charged for the general audience here. I needed a laugh, and this is the best I could do.

A couple of years ago we spent time at that website. It's a gem.

The last two minutes of this is perhaps the funniest thing I have ever heard.

It does contain obscenity.

Thank you sigi. I have these conversations every day. I refrain from obscenity, but not from veering into surreal deconstruction.

Yes, this made me laugh. If karma exists, I believe you are accumulating some of good quality.

My favorite question, or most memorable, was when my son asked, 'mom, what is space?'

He has also had a late bloom of potty humor. Penis is a very funny word right now. Shiny penis is funnier stll.

OMgosh, FB, maybe you should have warned me to use the bathroom before I read down that column!! Uh....no...I didn't, but almost. I was, however, ROTFLMAO but narrowly escaped PMP.

That is hilarious. Can't wait to read more. It's not civil, by any means (although he gets in some good stuff being civil, too) but we all need a dose of incivility from time to time...I think. I love razor sharp wit and creativity combined. Especially in response to well, the ....um.....%^&$#)(*&^ spewed online.

I loved it.

When I got to this........

>We could all sit outside on banana lounges discussing the best way to rebuild a 4WD transmission and agree, through shared stories of conquests supporting our assertions, that there is no basis to the proposition that those least assured of their persuasions are the first to condemn others for theirs. Although the ideal would be for everyone to be capable of love without fear, restraint, or obligation, clearly this does not apply to homosexuals.

I said to my wife that it was very clever indeed but it probably escaped me. I love it when I can't quite understand.

Phillipa, I must refuse the crown. Someone sent it to me on FB. I had never heard of him. But I think sigi said he had in his first post up top.

Has a book on NYT list, "the internet is a playground'. Can you load it onto your nook and give us a review ;-) ?

Maybe I should. Or YouTube more of the stand up sigi linked to....

He's Australian. It was Adelaide, Grange and Australian public schools that made me think so.

I wonder if humour has national characteristics?

Yes, I'd read it all once a few years ago now, but I didn't know he was Australian.

People here have been saying nice things about This American Life, perhaps by someone called Ira Glass. Do you know it? It is on the ABC. I don't know if this is the equivalent of PBS.

I like Ira Glass. He's on NPR here. That's ABC there.

Maybe, well there is a sience guy called Ira Plato, too.

Now I'm confused and want to look them up.

I had to listen carefully to Ira Glass or I'd miss what he was saying.

Maybe it was the vowels?
