bipolar blog mania p*ssed off people and more

Posted by Phil on July 5, 2011, at 21:02:06

I started a bipolar and more blog about 4 days ago,at about the same time I started nuvigil. I posted 20 topics in 2-3 days. As soon as I finished one, I'd think for 5 minutes and blaze through another one and had several people tell me I should have been a writer. I said I am, read the blog. I had a laser beam focus, no editing, the right words were there.
As I wrote about being manic and not recognizing it, I was actually manic and not recognizing it.
I'm still a bit amped up but I'm okay. That's the truth.
I called my older brother because I wanted to discuss it, he's always had a volatile temper but mostly controls it. Not this time, screaming irrational garbage at very high volume.
I told him I'm finished with this conversation and hung up on him.
I don't know when I'll talk to him again but my advice to him would be to not hold his breath. ah, mental illness my dear friend, are you now my only friend?

for now I've taken the blog private and it may stay that way only to serve as a personal journal.

You've had no success at creating a perpetual state of mild hypomania?

It's the nuvigil then?
Writing about not realizing you're manic, while you're manic and not realizing it? Do you think it sucks not being able to trust your own mood?
Your brother take meds? I hope he has some sense that his anger is out of control.

sig I think your description fits. sleep, not sure of the question but I don't always know where I'm at mood wise. I usually have a sneaking suspition but maybe don't pay attention to it and yeah, I think the nuvigil set this off.
I've often thought that my brother should be on meds but I'm not a doctor and I don't try to play one anymore. I know he could benefit from counseling but like so, so many people that have serious issues, they think they have it totally together and wouldn't see a therapist if their life depended on it.
hope I'm making sense here.

just got a message from a blogger that focus' on suicide. she's a psychologist and very bright. she has one of the few blogs that I follow.
I messaged her about my post being manic and not knowing it.
she just contacted me and said this was a very important message and asked if she could post it on her wall.
yes! yes! please! maybe I can do some good out there, even if it's just a little.

I had an awful, brief time on provigil. I felt it disconnected my thoughts from myself. Those thoughts would just go and go and I could not shut them off.

Hope your brother's temper has abated :-/

i doubt provigil will do anything for me and i've come to the point that when a new med is introduced, i'll take it. but i've lost all faith of anything doing what i need it to do. i just really don't care.
when i talked to a mental friend about my bro, i said he sent an email saying you caught me at a bad time. carry on. i said he didn't say he was sorry so f*** him, i'm done. she's like whoa, whoa! she said not everyone knows 'the language of recovery' and that was his apology.
i knew she was right and called him immediately. the conversation was forced until i said i was sorry for hitting him with my issues like i did. he said he had worked on his temper for years(true) but things still tripped him up...he said he was sorry.
is anything ever easy? : )

here's my blog. i think i've been honest whether talking about mental illness, psychiatrist's, suicide, medications, side effect's or anything else that comes to mind.

If you read it, thanks. If not, that's cool too.
off we go.
