Does anyone here like their dreams?
I, for one, do not. I want some new dreams and some variety.
Would entertain advice from a successful dreamer.

FB I have been dreaming of my life from first marriage and now getting up to present. It's rather scarey as don't they say your life flashed before you before you leave this world forever. My little dog for three years sadly looks at me daily so I wonder. So my dreams are not good at all I wake scared daily. Some say plan your dreams but tried that and it doesn't work for me. Hoping someone can help. Love Phillipa

Phillipa, I'm sorry you're distressed. Your life isn't flashing before your eyes like that. (How's that for an invalidating statement. Sorry.) I mean, I don't think you're going to die anytime soon.
So my dreams have my entire frickin family of origin in them, dead parents and grandparents, estranged siblings. Ugh. And like some Dickens' character or some poor matchgirl from Hans Christian Anderson, I wander around looking for a place to live, all the while being confuse about who's dead or alive, the order that they died, and feeling sad all over again when I realize in the dream that, hey, wait a minute. Aren't you dead?!
Then pepper my nights with a nightmare in which I'm telling anyone of above mentioned clan how ANGRY I am at them. I usually wake up.
What happened to my dreams of owls in the woods or flying? Yes! I loved flying dreams.
I haven't had any naked in public dreams for awhile, and that's fine.
So Mr. Sandman (not ETA Hoffman's) send me a dream!
(Anyone have sleep / meditation techniques to share?)

FB I guess I could? Flying dreams mean good things. Very positive. Dead folks I'd say mean accepting gone forever. Naked you do not feel exposed in public. Sounds like you are healing. Sometimes my dreams are my real dreams of working in nursing again, travel, and having power. In control. Googling dreams sometimes you find the symbol. I used to dream and still do sometimes of trying to find my patients as their meds were due and no matter where I went I couldn't find them. Those I know were related to stress. I think they say talk to yourself and create your dream before falling asleep. Unfortunately that doesn't work for me. Love Phillipa

I like them for what they try to tell me. They aren't usually happy though.

I love my dreams. I think the secret is lucidity. I often know I am dreaming when I'm in a dream and that makes even nightmares enjoyable.
The first step to lucidity in dreams is to practice recalling your dreams. Then develop a method for reality testing. My reality testing is to read some text. If the text makes sense I am in the real world. If it is a jumble of letters, I'm in the dream world.
Once I realize I am dreaming I can often control my dream to an extent and it is very fun.

Do I understand correctly that you can read in your dreams? If so, wow. I would love that. Could you always? If you practiced, how?

Well I can't really read in my dreams because nothing I read makes sense in my dreams LOL. I guess I don't have enough brain power in my dreams to actually come up with words that make sense. LOL.
I can read letters, but all words are jumbled up. For exampe: knetipe, greeolme etc. They just don't make sense. It's weird.
