how is this a poll? and what's a locket?

sorry for this, but the second question is serious.. what is a locket? i thought you meant a locker, because that would make sense with the photo, and the 'T' is right next to the 'R' on the keyboard, but then people repeated 'locket'.. so what is a locket if I may ask?

Locket is a pendant/charm worn on a necklace or a bracelet that opens with a hinge and holds photos or other small memento.

Lol! Thanks interesting responses, everyone. Next:

How often do you eat meat? Why? Do you wish you could eat it more often or would eat it less often? Why?

Once a day on average

>Why?

To eat protein.

>Do you wish you could eat it more often or would eat it less often?

Less, much less.
(I'm trying to eat more beans and brown rice.)

>Why?

Because it is associated with so much suffering, if only through factory farming.
It is an appalling thing that has been done to the world in our name.

Almost every day, but not by plan.

Why?

I'm too lazy to prepare more fresh, non-meat meals for myself.

Do you wish you could eat it more often or would eat it less often? Why?

I'd prefer to eat more fruit and vegetables - fresh - but my depressed mental state can be inhibitive. Some days it stops at crackers.

Chicken - once a month or two.
Beef - couple times a year.

> >Why?

I sometimes just taste a bit of it while making it for others. My body feels sluggish and doesn't function properly when I eat a lot of meat. I feel the best eating a little fish or soy products with legumes and grains, and lots of vegetables and fruit.

> >Do you wish you could eat it more often or would eat it less often?

I would prefer to eat none at all.

Can't say it any better than Sigismund -- **Because it is associated with so much suffering, if only through factory farming. It is an appalling thing that has been done to the world in our name.**

"Earthlings" a powerful and heart-breaking documentary has affected how and what I eat. I highly recommend this eye opening film. It's hard to watch, but will move and inform you.

The above link automatically takes you to some romance novel.

Here's the correct link if anyone's interested in watching the *Earthlings* documentary.

> How often do you eat meat?

I've been using protein to satiate my appetite and eat less so I've been eating a lot of meat, mostly turkey. I eat red meat maybe once a week.

> Why?

I like the taste of meat and it keeps me full. I've been trying to eat fewer calories.

> Do you wish you could eat it more often or would eat it less often?

After reading more about calorie restriction for life extension, I've discovered that eating moderate protein is the way to go. My goal is to eat less meat.

> Why?

High levels of IGF-I is bad, excess protein increases IGF-I independent of calories and deactivates SIRT1, a gene involved in longevity.

If had taste and smell back would go back to salads with combos of rice, beans, and seafood salad. And raw vegtables and fruits. How I used to eat. Phillipa

I eat chicken or fish or eggs once or twice a week. Red meat less often, perhaps once a month. I am aware that a lot of people around me suffer from poverty and hunger and it feels wrong to be fussy about eating. I try not to exclude anything from my diet - except things like offal which I really can't stomach. I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables preferably those that are fresh and in season and not excessively expensive. I like to think my diet is balanced.

I hear crickets chirping... or maybe it's just a long weekend's lack of noise.

I don't have a lawyer except when I need to hire one. I see them as very specialized, rather than general practioners. So only for specific situations.

Nope, I also don't do karaoke - I've never even been into a karaoke bar. The closest I've come to karoake was to sing an Italian madrigal in a pub one evening, accompanied by a jazz pianist. As a joke I had said I would sing Caro mio Ben, feeling quite certain the painist wouldn't have the music, in fact I thought he would never have heard of it. Well, it turned out he had, so I was caught. I didn't even have time to feel nervous. It was lots of fun, a jazzed up version of a seventeenth century song. I guess I could see myself getting hooked on performing in public, except that I am normally quite reserved.

Re the previous poll, yes I do have a lawyer, mostly to check contracts before I sign them. Why do you ask questions like this? Thye feel quite personal.....

No of course I don't have a favourite song I sing at karaoke. I'd run a mile.

I'm more interested in that lawyer thing. I have had much too much to do with them and every time I do it is very expensive.
I'm with the butcher in Henry VI.

I once stayed with friends in an old cheap hotel directly above a karaoke bar.
Just one night.
It started around (or likely after) my bedtime and went until four in the morning.
We put our earplugs in. They were uncomfortable.
We took them out. We tried to sleep.
We listened to the music.
Three hours after it stopped we got up and left town.

Yep, New York New York. After I knock back a few stiff martinis, I shamelessly belt out a rousing rendition of one of Sinatra's signature songs. I'm not as good as this little cutie here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbaWmbHdI7o but I can clear out the bar. Good times.

These little town blues, are melting away
I'm gonna make a brand new start of it - in old New York
A-a-a-nd if i can make it there, I'm gonna make it anywhere
It's up to you - New York New York

Boy, you've been asking questions to which I have no answer!

The real answer is no tea at all. I've never developed the taste for tea or coffee. But I'll be a good New Orleanian and say "Sweet Tea". Is there any other kind? :)
