Spain's Catalonia expected to ban bullfights.

The vote is pitting animal rights activists against fans of national tradition.
In December the parliament voted 67 for and 59 against to take the citizens' petition under consideration, and the final vote on Wednesday is expected to echo that outcome as lawmakers of all stripes, from Socialists to conservatives from the nationalist CiU party, support the ban.
"We understand it's a tradition but now is the time to rethink such a bloody act. There are other traditions we can hang on to," Silvia Barquero, spokeswoman for the small anti-bullfighting party, or PACMA.

i dont think they will ban it, if thats what is tradition an its still popular.In england the last goverment banned fox hunting on horseback with dogs. the new coverment are in favour of it, an in the cities there is a call for a fox cull as they have attacked people in there homes at night ie children. we have a massive dog fight underground following. even fight to the death human cage fights like gladiator,s. You in america rodeo bull,s that get killed as well as the rider,s. All these things surface again if legally banned only twice as bad

I've been photographing rodeo for almost 40 years and I've never seen a bull killed yet. AND the bull rope does NOT go over the balls or the p enis. It goes in front of the p enis. I've seen hundreds of bulls in the chutes.
A bull rider named Lane Frost was killed several years ago but he is the only one that I know about. He was very famous and that might be the reason that his death was in the news. There could be others that didn't get any press.
I've never said that I have gone to reform rodeo, I am working on a book to document Indian rodeo. There are definitely events that I do not watch nor do I photograph them.
The article was quite clear about the one "province" "township", etc that will vote on Wednesay to end bull fighting. It has already passed by a 60+ to 50+ vote in a department below the one that votes tomorrow.

MMMMMMMMMM whats all this ropes over penis bit, you lost me on that one .An i no you are an animal rights lady ,but the one town bull fighting stuff was a bit random. Those bull are born to fight, you carnt get anywhere near them as they grow into a lethal missile.injected with steriods the hole nine yards.I dout if they feel anything pumped up like preditor. The picadors horses get the worst of it.My dogs are born to hunt vermin , an get injured in the battles. they are that pumped with adrenalin like the bull they feel nothing.i stitch small wounds with fishing line. Do that to a spaniel at it would screem the place down. my point is the bulls are breed as killing machines. There sole purpose is to kill the matador, and indeed they do at times
