Being Ignored

At first, it was "Hmmm?" producing. Then, I began caring less & less. That's progress. LOL

>Or should that be whom?

YES

One of the attractive things about the USA is the persistence of whom.

I have even noticed whom and whomever being used where who and whoever should be.

I'm starting to learn how to do it.

American diction is very interesting.

I need to have Cormac McCarthy read out by someone who can do the accents.

I have a tape of The Crossing read by Brad Pitt (nothing wrong with him of course, but even so) but it's on tape with terrible reproduction.

At least you have a hung parliament this morning. Congratulations.

I like to listen to Americans lining up their consonants in parallel.

We don't use them here.

It has been said that some of the Australian accent comes from Essex, which reminds me of Helen Mirren's question
'How can you tell if an Essex girl comes?'
'She drops her chips.'

Which brings me to an Australian joke.....

A man walks into a pub in the country.
'What's the beer like?'
'Bloody awful. I'll be glad when I've had enough.'

Sigi, do you think I should have a signature at the bottom of my posts like some people do? I notice that you don't have one. Perhaps you should.
