Long drive yesterday on the radio last night this talk show said just came in that the doc that was living with Michael Jackson is now wanted for manslauter as he gave him propofel used in anesthesia was taking for sleep and he had needle marks in neck and chest. Poor Micheal. I do feel for him now. Phillipa

I don't know... sounds sort of hearsay like a lot of the investigations that are going on at the moment.
Propofol is a fairly safe -short term- anesthetic used for uncomplicated hospital procedures.

Propofol can cause respritory depression and can cause you to stop breathing, hence the o2 tanks they found, in the hospital, they provide you with o2 when they give it to you.

I don't think I would totaly blame the doctor. Micheal Jackson was asking for these meds. Going to diferent doctors till he could find one to give it to him.

The thing that I wonder about is why anyone would need pethidine or anaesthetics when they already have Dilaudid?

It does seem a bit extream to take general anithesia in order to sleep. Aparently he was doing this for a long time.

Before it wasn't known that probably propofol was involved, for at least one week Xanax was blamed in the media in Germany to have caused the death.
Ethanol is a drug that is available over the counter and personally I like French wine. But if you see an abdomen full of aszites, portal hypertension, bilirubin swelling of the brain, esophagus varices... you acknowledge that is poison too. Never heard that it is common to use propofol for sleep regularly.

people always need reasons and newspapers can deliver it. Before anything was known there were rumors and false information that Xanax was the drug that caused the death. Pure mass hysteria. It is still not clear if propofol was the reason.
Later I read that the injury at Michael's scalp caused the drug dependency.
I don't know about dr. murray. It was written that he had a salary of 150'000 usd a month while accompanying Jackson on a concert tour...
Always be cautious to what people want you believe...

sdb that could have started his addiction to pain meds but wow it sure escalitated if he added so many other pain killers through the years. As the injury would be healed by now. Phillipa
