Posted by myco on May 5, 2009, at 15:28:33

A single woman, saddened by her dull sex life, goes into to the famous Japanese sex Dr...Dr Daio Hiyaku.

"Dr I havent been laid in years"

Hiyaku-san says "ah...prease crawrl along frowr on hands and knees away from me then back to me now prease."

She does

Hiyaku looks at her mornfully

"oh..you have Ed Zachary disease"

"omg" the woman is a gasp.

"what is Ed Zachary disease?"

Please be sensitive to the feelings of others (such as those with accents).

But please don't take this personally, this doesn't mean I don't like you or think you're a bad person, and I'm sorry if this hurts you.

More information about posting policies is in the FAQ:

http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#enforce

Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration. They, as well as replies to the above post, should of course themselves be civil.

Thanks,

Bob

All people have accents, even those at the centre of the anglosphere.

It's part of their charm.

Ever watched "Slingblade"?

Here's a description of mine from something I read...

>It baffled Rosie how her mother could have lived her life in the backblocks of Perth, and still manage to sound so English, so proper. Though it was an accent that Rosie had come to understand while living in London, it would be unrecognisable to anyone living in the British Isles. It was an accent learned from the ABC and the BBC World Service generations ago.

Aye Sig lad, true true.

another "silly" yet offensive? (i guess) joke lol:

This one comes from a Japanese professor I had in second year (i'm assuming he didnt write it but used it for fun - an argument against Bob's stupid comment about accent sensitivity)

He told us about voting when he came to Canada and how excited he was to be able to "erect" the Prime Minister.

hehe

ya ok old ladies...lay into me.

Some Japanese musicians came into the station yesterday.

There were about 10 of them, they smiled and smiled, bowed and smiled again. I was, as usual, overwhelmed with their good manners. Quite unlike us here.

In Japan *no one* uses a mobile phone on any of the trains. A really important businessman (one suspects) might use one quitely between the carriages.

OTOH, one sense Japanese society takes a dim view of substance abuse, which is why they like it here perhaps.

I loved Japan and would go back in a flash. They have good public transport and food (to die for, actually).

Again I totally agree.

Sigi you are such a voice of reason on a joke thread lol

Some of my best friends in Vancouver were Japanese. I tutored one girl english and she tutored me in Japanese. Very polite, very friendly...if I ever go, I will have many places to stay.

:o)

myco,
You wrote,[...Bob's xxxxxx comment...].
I am unsure as to the following. If you could reply with any answers, I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.
A.In your thinking, is Bob's, what you call xxxxx, comment also considered by you to be xxxxxx if others were to take the same position as Mr. Hsiung has concerning the use of accents in a post offered for amusement on a mental heath forum?
B. If a person takes the position as Mr. Hsiung here in this situation, in your thinking would they themselves be xxxxxx?
C. What criteria did you use to post that Mr. Hsiung's comment was xxxxxx?
D. other aspects not listed
Lou

I'm sorry also that the support of your friends didn't enable this to be avoided. But I think posters need to take responsibility for their actions, so I'm going to send you to your cabin to cool down for a bit.
