RIP in Peace, David Fathead Newman

He is one artist that my children listened to for years at our home. He has the most delightful recording of "The Elephant Walk" and I cannot find it on Youtube. If anyone looks around and locates it, my children would love to have it for their children...........xoxox Pat

p.s. this is "Lonely Avenue". Ray Charles did a very soulful version of this.

Did you find "The Elephant Walk"? I put one of my teens on the job and he couldn't find it, not a good sign. At above site I found a Ray Charles (I love) Version of "What a wonderful World" The video I found is beautiful.

I just got back from a 7-day vacation. My friend and fellow poster is unable to post right now, no fun without her! I geuss I'll go back to "Lonely Avenue" and post a few overdue posts.

Hope I can visit if I'm close to taking a second vacation.

I haven't found the song yet and it is scary if a teenager can't find it...You're so kind to ask someone to help me find it.

I'll check "what a wonderful world" out. I came very close to crying when I read that he died. He was a major part of the "music education" that our children received when they were "tweens".

Have you heard Ray Charles sing "Lonely Avenue"? It is one song that can get me up and about! I love the melody and the words.

Hi Pat,

Sorry I don't have the link but if you go back to yours and type in Ray Charles What a wonderful World Nature the video should come up. I hope. I couldn't get it to post.I made a video (yes it was a while ago!) for my Dad to that song, it started with his childhood and ended with him holding his grandkids. He cried. sniff sniff. I love Ray Charles' music. I only have one CD. I need to get more.

I did listen to Elephant Walk, its a classic. Although I admit I didn't know it by name. I also listened to your link, a beautiful song, but your saying that wasn't Ray Charles. I'm an airhead, I'll go back and listen to the Ray Charles version.

This is getting embarressing, I need to get one of these kids to show me how to paste a link! I think the problem was that I wasn't registered. Next time!! If you don't easily find that video let me know, its too beautiful to miss!!

Thanks for the visit!
