X Mas Tree Shopping Spree!

Posted by llurpsienoodle on December 31, 2008, at 8:01:38

So... I have been whining about getting my very own Christmas tree for the last 10 years or so, and FINALLY! my husband relented.

So, four days after Christmas, my h, my cousin, and myself went to Target, purchased a 7ft, remote-controlled, Christmas Tree, nice and full! along with 300 ornaments. 100 plastic ones for the bottom third of the tree, and the rest traditional glass globes and glass icicles for the top part. The colors are gold, silver, and blue, and the thing just GLOWS!!!

Total price tag?
250$ seriously! Everything was 50% off. I also bought Christmas cards and i *should* buy some gift bags, at 50 cents a piece, I could save some moneys. It's not like this stuff spoils, and we have a 12x 18 room in our basement that is full of boxes and construction detritus. Instead it *could* be home to a selection of gift giving fixin's.

YAY!!! There's Christmas spirit in MY house. (every year we go out of town, and return to an empty, cheerless place)!!!

Whoo hoo!

Is my cat *seriously* drinking out of the toilet?

The killer kitty taught the plump kitty. The plump kitty taught the kitten. Next thing you know *I'll* be drinking out of the toilet. Oh. Wait. Nevermind.

Eggnog candle is lovely. :)

How long will YOUR Xmas tree be up this year? I plan on redecorating mine for Valentine's day :)

My kitty prefers that I turn on the faucet whenever I'm in the bathroom - she follows me around the house. Usually it's just for show. Puts head under faucet dribble, lets water run off the end of her nose, and slurps it up. Mostly she wants me to pet her before I turn on the water. She's tell me so if I forget that part.

I'd stay away from the toilet water, stick to the French stuff you put behind your ears and on your wrists.

At the moment the tree is essential for the cat to hang out under - she loves being a Christmas kitty. I will probably take the lot down after New Year's, as I've had it up for a couple of weeks now.

Nice score, btw!

Had a cat who would only drink out of toilet bowl now cat we have pulls his water bowl into middle of hard wood floor paws all water onto hardwood a no no and then licks it. So had to add an extra dish to catch the water. He will figure out this I'm sure. Most of the neighborhood has already undecorated. As for us we just don't. Love Phillipa

My dog prefers the toilet to his bowl - I think its a height thing. If dogs have such a superior sense of smell this confuses me. But then he gives me that puzzled head tilt when I eat mushrooms, so, like most things, it depends on your point of view, I suppose.

The kitten is too small to reach head into potty. She dips her paw into it and then licks her paw over and over and over and over...

He was fascinated by the bubbles in it, but he was scared of it too. Then a little later I hear him sneeze and turn around just in time to see him backing away and licking his lips repeatedly! He's so finicky, I wonder what would make him want to try that???

That is so cute!!! In a kind of gross sort of way. ;-)
