Hi all,
I thought you would all like to hear the good news that last Thursday I had a gorgeous, scrummy little boy who we have have called Joe. He was 10 days over due, weighing in at 8lb8oz, after a long and at times stressful 48 hour labour. I am so madly and insanely in love its silly!!
And when I say he is gorgeous I'm not just biased.. he is!!

Even though is he is so big and strong (he is VERY strong!) there are some problems with his blood, and as of yesterday afternoon he was moved up to Neo Natal Intensive Care to be looked after.. Coming home last night without my baby was probably the most heart breaking thing I have ever done.. So prayers that they get to the bottom of the problems, and that they're easy to fix would be really appreciated.

Oh Nicki, I'm so happy for you!!! Congratulation!!!! I have a lot of positive energy in me right now and I'm directing it all to baby Joe (and you and hubby of course). You remind me of my Mom telling me how it was when she couldn't take my brother home right away because he had jaundice. But he turned out okay and I'm sure your's will too!

It must have be just awful going home without him!
It's good they found out soon that there was a problem - before, for example, you took him home & he got sick or something. That would have been scarey.
Anyway, he's where he needs to be for now. Get lots of rest Nikki...and baby yourself right now.
I wish I were there to visit you.

My son had to stay extra time in the hospital for some sort of blood incompatability with mine. But he's just dandy now. I will pray for Joe and for you of course.

I hope you are able to spend as much time as possible with him.
Are you able to hold him?

God loves the children, so whatever ultimately happens your wee Joe will be OK.
Just enjoy the wonderous love you have discovered.
I never understood what agape love was until I had my babies.
Its their greatest gift to me.

Congratulations! Neonatal intensivists tend to know what they're doing, so I'm sure you're in good hands. But good luck never hurts, so good luck, too!
